Stop Gap Strategy
We acknowledge there’s a problem.
We want to do right by the world. We want to do right by our clients. We want to do right by our employees or colleagues. We want to do right by our friends and family.
But we cannot do things right the first time.
So we adopt a stop gap strategy.
We hire who we need to hire, right now (sometimes that is the right thing to do – we just need a plumber to fix the toilet).
We treat people in a particular way, just for a short while, so we can move the project forward.
We adopt a stop gap strategy.
But inevitably, the stop gap strategy becomes standard operating procedure.
And then we realise, we didn’t make a difference at all. We just did the same thing we’ve always done.
