Wasted Hours

Gradle is a tool used in Android Studio for assembling all of your code and assets into a data file that can be loaded on to an Android device.

Unfortunately, it can be somewhat obtuse at times.

Which means hours of lost productivity figuring out what has mysteriously broken.

But once you find a fix and apply it, you are no longer any wiser.
